I played a deck similar to this with an all hobbit deck on the other side, and it made through the whole saga, minus the black gate. Excellent deck. Though on theme side I include gimli and legolas allies, also could targets for flame of anor... and I also ran Beorn instead of Brok, as Beorn might be could to pay for and then reshuffle.

Beorn is absolutely a better choice, strategically.. But, Brok is a lot funnier to use.
