My take on a solo Dúnedain deck I've had great success with. The strategy is pretty straightforward. Play Steward on Amarthiúl, as well as all the defensive cards and Song of Wisdom. With 3 Deep Knowledge, Heed the Dream, Master of the Forge and even Galadriel it's really easy to set up Amarthul into a 5 or 6 defense hero with immunity to shadow effects. The rest is pure Dúnedain goodness. Early game you can stall with Feint, Ranger of Cardolan and Descendants of Kings until Amarthiul becomes a beast. Then it's just a matter of playing allies and buff them with Sword that was Broken. Finally, while the Snares are not the centerpiece of the deck, you almost certainly want to fecth and play at least 1 mid-game to turn your boardstate from great to ridiculous. Suggestions are welcome!

Jul 31, 2016I definitely will have to post an updated version. Still not sure about getting rid of Burning Brand and songs, as the songs are useful to play expensive Lore cards much earlier, but the Destriers will for sure go in. Sadly I will have to trade Raiment for Shield, which worries me a bit because without Brand I'll have to suffer that first shadow effect with 3 hitpoints. |
I used to play a very simillar deck, with the same hero lineup, a few months ago.
Now, with armored destriers I'm pretty sure that you could replace Songs of Wisdom and burning brands for the mounts, giving you some space to put some other cards in the deck. I'd play a 3rd copy of sneak attack for sure, and maybe also a 3rd feint, are you limited to 1 core set?
