This is the deck I settled in for my solo run through The Fate of Numenor nightmare. It is based off of the deck Out of Retirement with some ents taken out and elves put in to go along with my theme. The theme comes from The Hobbit. "Dear me!" he went on. "Not the Gandalf who was responsible for so many quiet lads and lasses going off into the Blue for mad adventures? Anything from climbing trees to visiting elves -- or sailing in ships, sailing to other shores!" These are the tales of some of those hobbits that Bilbo has heard about. The deck is very versatile. At first I was worried about only running one Steward. But it actually runs pretty well with just a Gandalf Staff for extra resources. There were a couple games where I didn't see Steward for a while and I still won.
Opening hand you want a Master of the Forge and/ or pipe or staff. Those will get your deck running.
Against this scenario in Nightmare Mode, you don't want to explore any islands in phase one. You want more islands in the staging area for stage 2 anyway. If I had to drop one card, it would be Narya. I didn't end up using it once in five games.
I played the scenario five times, winning four of them.
This deck looks great! I love the theme, and this quest, I’ll make sure to pull this one out next time I do a nightmare dream chaser run through!
