Ring Maker 303
This deck tries to do just about everything, and I daresay does it all quite well.
-
Questing Out of the gate it can quest for 5 after you drop a spirit ally on the table. After that, your willpower only continues to grow and starts to overflow once multiple Ethir Swordsman hit the table.
-
Defense Shield wall! Get Gondorian Shield and Unexpected Courage on him and watch your enemies crash against the rock that is Beregond! The Honour Guard are there to keep him in the fight.
-
Attack Legolas and the Galadhon Archer's are you ranged supporters. Arm your archers with the Bow of the Galadhrim and Rivendell Blade's and watch your enemies fall in a storm of arrows.
-
Resource Acceleration Arwen's ability coupled with Zigil Miner and Imladris Stargazer, and you will have all the resources you need to play all the cards in your hand.
-
Card Draw comes in the form of Foe-hammer, Gandalf, and Elven-light. You will have a steady flow of cards into your hand and the resources to pay for them.
-
Treachery and Shadow Cancellation Both are important but shadow cancellation even more so with this build. The Hasty Stroke's ensure Beregond's survival against all of the surprise attacks the enemy can throw at him.
Whenever I play this deck I envision my enemies crashing against a Gondorian shield wall and then are cut down by the elven archers. Cool stuff!

Jun 25, 2022Thanks man! Yeah inner strength would be really strong here, but I don't have that in my collection. |
Jun 25, 2022Well, I just beat Helms' deep with this deck (score of 120) with relative ease, so it must be good! ;) |

Jun 26, 2022This deck was just ready right out of the bat (And I suppose the extra round helped too ;) ). It handled combat great (Beregond got a Gondorian Shield on from round 1, which allowed for near-constant threat reduction, and Legolas had some help from a Galadhon Archer, making killing easy). With Aragorn and Arwen Undómiel questing along with all the great allies, the high added threat from Defense of Helm's Deep wasn't too much of a problem. The only thing that really hurt me was archery. Best combo was Lore of Imladris and Zigil Miner because that allowed me pretty much 2 resources every turn as well as making sure I drew the cards I wanted (it also helped discard poisoned counsels, so that was really helpful Legolas is definitely my favorite hero to play Helm's Deep with (and it's my favorite quest so I play it a lot) because he can cross the locations and bypass most of the bad effects. Very thematic as well!!! I mean, this deck is very simple in design, but I think that's actually a plus here because it doesn't have too much going on to worry about. Some decks do, and it makes it both hard to play and somewhat ineffective, because there's so many combos and whatnot to worry about. A good solo deck should be able to handle everything with ease, which yours does. Two thumbs up! |

Jun 27, 2022beware that you need an weapon or armor. with only 3 shields its perhaps a bit risky, so consider some of Round Shield or Livery of the Tower or Open the Armory. the last one is not only to fetch the Gondorian Shield it can also be used to search for a bow if the shield is allready out. another option for your deck: consider (MotK) Legolas instead of Legolas then you have more carddraw. (and if you want to make more of him, he likes Thorongil no matter wich version) |

Beregond would be even more effective if he had The one ring and Inner Strength. Understandable if that's not the way you want to go, but an extra shield and shadow cancellation would be great right away. other than that, this deck looks pretty sweet!
