I haven't tested it yet.
The Idea is to play Radagast, the ally ! He is unique, expansive, he needs his staff... So i play At the End of All Things, it's thematic with eagles and T4 we search and pay Radagast and his Radagast's Staff !
To hold 3 turns, we play solid old fashioned heroes, Glorfindel and Boromir.
They are good with the contract because with include readying (Boromir) and Light of Valinor we make the most of their good stats.
I play Boromir to take advantage of eagles and particularly of Support of the Eagles.
The threat should not be a problem with 24 at the start and 3 Elrond's Counsel.
We lack on draw so we have 3 Ancient Mathom, it's nice with Hunting Dogs too.
We have no healing in this deck, fortunatly we have 12 PV on our heroes !
After T3 we should have a lot of money thanks to Radagast and we will swarm our creatures ! :)

Aug 02, 2023Yes it's a very nice idea ! The downsides i see could be the threat, we have to do without Elrond's Counsel and an higher start. I don't know if Double Back is enough with Boromir. Especially since we have few willpower to pass the quest. The Galadhrim's Greeting is too expensive with only two heroes. We also have 0 heal and if we play a dog T2 for exemple, we can't play Gondorian Shield so Boromir will have some arrows issues like in the book :D We maybe should have Winged Guardian to avoid this problem. We lost some stats compare to Glorfindel with his light but it's compensated by the Eagles of the Misty Mountains. In my mind we were waiting for Radagast to play eagles but your idea scale better i suppose :) |
Aug 02, 2023Super idea Kas ! But probably not for solo ? This contract is very complicated with just 2 heroes and without leadership ! The quest will be a big problem ! Just something, Strider is probably better than Light of Valinor , specially in early game |

Aug 03, 2023Yep Strider is a big omission ! We quest for 8 T1 with it, it's not bad. Leadership is not very nice with the contract i think since you can't play Steward of Gondor neither Legacy of Númenor... Radagast ! <3 <3 |
Aug 03, 2023Well you can actually use Legacy of Númenor or other resource generating events, the contract only restricts resource generation through attachments. |
Aug 03, 2023Yep i know but Legacy of Númenor isn't worth as usual with 2 heroes, Captain's Wisdom exhaust a boosted hero, many other cards give only one resource... I like this contract with attachements like Radagast's Staff, King of Dale, Vilya or with Arwen Undómiel, Glóin... These are other ways to play for more than 2 resources/turn. |
you play alep, so u can exploit it.
base-idea is good, but you can fasten it up. take Widfast and play Eagles of the Misty Mountains 1. turn SAVE.
then you can build up an big eagle from the start and boost further when radagast comes.
