Premise
My favourite mining deck in the game. It is maybe my Dwarf deck with the highest swarm potential, usually being able to play 4-5+ allies during the first round due to acceleration cards like Legacy of Númenor, Hidden Cache, Steward of Gondor, Zigil Miner and (of course) A Very Good Tale. Dáin Ironfoot boosts your mining army while Gandalf controls your mining triggers with Nori making the whole thing feasible from a threat-perspective.
How To Play
Look for an opening hand that leads to you exploding as soon as possible. Quantifying what a hand like that looks is a bit difficult, it takes a few playthroughs with the deck to get a good feeling for what you need. Some form of either Legacy of Númenor or way to trigger Hidden Cache's ability for 2 resources is usually a part of it though. After playing through your deck (which happens rather quickly), you should ensure to still have Will of the West available to do the whole thing again.
Considerations
Double Back is a no-brainer as an include in higher player counts (I would look to remove something like Hardy Leadership). Messenger of the King with Bilbo Baggins is a nice alternative to Nori, Shadowfax is very useful for 2+-player-games, Dwarven Tomb and Erebor Guard just missed out on maing the card but are certainly useful.
Enjoy!!!

Apr 17, 2025There are some other Dwarf decks in my deckbox. All of them should do fine next to this deck, but might require a few changes to be playable next to each other (since many run Nori/Dain, with some of the allies also extremely common). This one is pretty great for Moria and at least only runs Dain (who can be easily replaced by Beregond for instance), maybe swap 1-2 overlapping allies and you should be good to go :) |
Just beat Angmar with a couple of Nolder themed decks, time for a change of pace with some Dwarves going to Moria. Any suggestions for a fellowship?
