Gonfindel 2089

(EXPLANATION in english below)

-------- ENGLISH ------->>>

Revised Content Only (RCO).

Rohan theme deck. The central idea of the deck is to reinforce Théoden and Éomer so that they carry the weight of the combat. Théoden mainly on defense (the weak point of Rohan decks) and Éomer on attack to take advantage of his great ability.

Meanwhile, with Gamling and the wonderful Gúthwinë we will constantly recover allies. Also, we play with three spheres, so we will have healing.

HEROES :

  • Théoden. He will allow us to save resources when playing Rohan allies. He will also be our main defender, we will put Raven-winged Helm, Golden Shield, Hauberk of Mail and Ancestral Armor on him, he´ll can have 8 and take a hit of 14.

  • Éomer will be our main asset in attack. We will put him Firefoot and Gúthwinë, he´ll have 7 . Remember, if Éomer go to quest, take advantage of his ability to attack enemies in the Staging Area.

  • Éowyn: her main function will be to quest. Although we will always keep in mind her great ability of a double attack of 10 that will save us in critical moments.

ATTACHMENTS :

In addition to those attachments that I have already mentioned before, we have Snowmane and Unexpected Courage that we will put to Théoden so that he´ll can to quest and defend various enemies; or attack if necessary.

EXTRA CARD DRAW : Gamling and Gúthwinë will help us constantly recover allies.

HEALING : we have 2 Dúnedain Remedy. We can add another copy if the scenario demands it.

THREAT CONTROL : we have 3 Gandalf and 1 Sneak Attack. On the sideboard we have Double Back if necessary.

YES, I guess you have already seen that there is an elf in the group of allies, is Guardian of Rivendell. His main function is to take advantage of the duplicate cards that we have in hand when we put him into play. It's not thematic, but if Peter Jackson sent elves to Helm's Deep, so can we. :-D

Just curious if the lack of resource generation became a problem at all. The allies aren't that cheap ( Theoden only helps once each round), generating 1 resource a round for 3 different spheres, plus there are a number of abilities that require resources to be spent

Hello @Jesters_Race, all decks with three spheres are more difficult than with two or one. In exchange there is more variety of cards.

In this case, Théoden's help by reducing the cost of allies by -1 is a great help and it shows.

On the other hand, allies like Ceorl or Elfhelm will have turns that are not even played, they are secondary like almost all allies.

Most importantly, Éomer's ability: you don't have to use it every turn. Anyway, if you look at the statistics, Leadership is the sphere that needs the least resources and can be used for Éomer.

Greetings! :-)

Thanks, I will have to give it a try. I have been looking for a different type of deck than i have played before to go into the Erid Mithrin campaign. Do you think this deck would start as a good foundation.

Hi! @Jesters_Race :-)

It is not a very complicated deck to play, but it is not for beginners. In any case, I RECOMMEND reading my explanation of how it works before going on an adventure. You will find instructions that will help you play fluently and optimize as much as possible. This is essential.

About Ered Mithrin, almost any deck works well if it is well made, tested and the author explains how to play it. Simply decide what theme or deck mechanic you want to play.

If you ask me if it is a powerful deck, yes it is, it works very well. Although I have RCO decks as consistent or more like:

Wizards and Creatures (#RCO) ringsdb.com

Revised trappers (#RCO) ringsdb.com

Círdan Fast & Furious (#RCO) ringsdb.com

And if you like Erestor, this deck is great:

Erestor Fast & Furious (#RCO) ringsdb.com

I insist, READ the explanation of each deck if you want to play it as optimally as possible.

Greetings! :-)
