My goal is to play each of the "book" quests with only the actual heroes that were involved with that story arc in the original novel. First up is A Shadow of the Past, where only Frodo Baggins, Pippin, and Sam Gamgee made the trek from Bag End to Buckleberry Ferry. As with its inspiration deck, Stealing the Initiative, the goal is a massive first round card draw/board build.
Version 2 of this deck, on a suggestion, includes Folco Boffin at the start of the quest. Once you explore Bag End, you should discard Folco Boffin and continue on with the main characters.
