This is the deck I ran at Con of the Rings 2024 for ALeP's 'The Hobbit' scenario. In our original four player game, it was the only survivor of The Battle of Five Armies. It recently completed the Master Burglar achievement in true solo, having earned all 13 boons and spending 3 to survive The Battle of Five Armies.

Inspiration for the deck came when the ALeP team announced their take on 'The Hobbit' prior to the Con. We can start the game with five dwarves in play, triggering Thorin Oakenshield and Ori for an extra resource and an extra card. Bond of Friendship gets us four dwarves then Thorin's Company allows us to dig for a fifth. I had the best success with the classic Imladris Stargazer and Zigil Miner combo from the start of the game.

This deck runs VERY close to the sun with a starting threat of 43. Threat is managed with dwarves being played from hand with Nori, Gandalf, and Favor of the Valar.

Will of the West is a very important card for this deck, but also for the scenario. I won't spoil anything aside from strongly suggesting to get a copy in hand and hold onto it. Another hint for The Battle of Five Armies: lean into the dwarf synergy and associated boons the scenario provides.
