Another thematic fun deck. The aim was to play all the Free People cards from Fangs in the Dark. There's a lot going on in this deck: doomed, victory display, guarded, artifacts and oathbreakers. With that much going on it felt limited to have just 50 cards. So therefore to choose [A Perilous Voyage].(https://ringsdb.com/card/40047). Though using this contract means the the threat can not be reduced.
Fortunately there is Castellan Wilhelm to get a higher threatlevel by playing allies with 'doomed' mentioned in their gametext. The abilities of the allies contribute the defence, offence and the willpower, while Mirkwood Pioneer can manipulate the active location.
With Grima I can trigger doomed that is nice in case you have not enough resources. Saruman's Staff helps against doomed. But problem there is that it needs to be discarded at the end of the turn due to Saruman ability. Therefore I consider to remove Legacy of NĂºmenor and Deep Knowledge to replace them with Second Breakfast and The White Council. It also helps for the combo: Palantir, Lord of Isengard and Far-sighted. Difficult yes, but fun non the less. Together with the contract, Word of Command and this mechanic, helps with going through your deck.
The Oatbreakers and the 'add to the victory display' cards gives some control over the encounter cards.
