"Blades in hand. Bows strung. Horns sounding. The staging area doesn’t stand a chance."
This is the sharpened version of the original scrappy deck — rebuilt around a tighter curve and a more aggressive stance for Angmar Awakened. With Prince Imrahil replacing Théodred, the deck maintains its Leadership/Tactics engine while improving combat tempo and recovery after early sacrifices.
What Changed
The original list centered around Éomer, Legolas, and Théodred, offering strong burst turns but occasionally sputtering under pressure or slow starts.
This version:
Swaps in Prince Imrahil for Théodred, trading resource smoothing for readying and momentum off fallen allies Maintains a lean, 50-card build focused on early board presence and kill pressure Adds more cost-efficient allies and responsive events without bloating the deck Preserves the core synergy: weapons, mounts, and hero-centric power plays
Role in the Fellowship
This deck is built for combat dominance and staging area control, with reliable quest contribution. It shines in multiplayer, especially when partnered with Lore or Spirit decks that can handle healing, cancellation, or high-threat treacheries.
Player Guide
Opening Moves
Mulligan hard for Steward of Gondor, Horn of Gondor, or early weapons Use cheap allies (Squire of the Citadel, Snowbourn Scout, Gondorian Spearman) to bait engagement and fuel Imrahil and Éomer Attach Spear of the Mark, Blade of Gondolin, and Rohan Warhorse to begin clearing staging fast
Mid-Game
Éomer, once fully equipped, becomes a multi-attacking wrecking ball Legolas fuels quest progress with every kill Prince Imrahil keeps the machine running with passive readying on ally deaths
Late Game
Weapons and attachments accelerate threat control Sneak in Gandalf, Faramir, or Feint to stabilize or flip bad rounds Foe-hammer and Valiant Sacrifice keep your hand full enough to recover
Summary
This refined deck doubles down on its strengths: hero-centric combat, fast staging control, and reliable pressure. It’s flexible, deadly, and tuned for the unforgiving tempo of Angmar Awakened.
Whether you’re lining up for Carn Dûm or fending off the undead in Fornost, this deck doesn’t wait to react — it kills threats before they arrive.
