Synopsis
A multiplayer deck that specializes in killing enemies while questing. It's gimmicky, but fun.
Design
I wanted a deck that centered around Éomer's ability to kill enemies in the staging area. If we're going to do that, we might as well go all-out, so we use Herugrim and Song of Hope to boost his killing power. Théodred and Steward of Gondor feed Éomer's hunger for resources, while Fastred makes sure that there's always something in the staging area to kill.
But lo, we have an Achilles heel! What happens if we end up engaging an enemy far too big for Fastred to handle? Tremble, foes, for our salvation is Terrible to Behold.
Strategy
- This deck suffers from low willpower in the early-game, so team up with a quest deck.
- Ideally, you want to get a Song of Hope, Steward of Gondor, Herugrim, and either Celebrían's Stone or Snowmane on Éomer (depending on the scenario and how your draw progresses). The Dúnedain Marks will get the ball rolling before you set up the combo.
- Théodred gets whatever restricted attachment that Éomer didn't.
- Fastred gets all of the Dúnedain Warnings, and the first one or two Unexpected Courages.
- Diligent Noble is in there in case Snowmane and the Unexpected Courages are buried at the bottom of your deck. It allows you to exhaust Fastred for Terrible to Behold
Sideboard
- Súlien makes more sense than Northern Trackers in some scenarios.
- Bulwark of the West protects against game-crushing Condition attachments. Snowbourn Scouts are the ideal targets.
- I've never included Rally the West, but it's another way to buff Éomer.
